About the Park and Recreation Department
We at Ashland Parks & Recreation (P&R) strive to bring to the community of Ashland, as-well-as the surrounding community's, quality and age appropriate programs throughout the year. Our two biggest programs are the "After School Program" and the "Summer Day Camp Program." Each of these programs have been in existence for many years. Each has it's own unique qualities.
Other programs that are receiving positive responses are the "Hope it Floats Program" and the "Vacation Day Camp Program." Both offer different opportunities for participants to explore their own world.
Throughout the year, Ashland P&R looks to offer programs that the community members are interested in. If you know of any programs or workshops that you would like to see offered, please contact the director or submit a "Create a Class Form." We will do our best to accommodate all requests.
Other than programs, Ashland P&R offers great facilities to the public. Our Town Beach has recently been renovated and already has become a jewel on the coast of Little Squam Lake. Our "Booster Club" building and adjoining athletic fields are used throughout the year. The "Booster Club" building can also be rented for private events. Contact the Ashland P&R Director for availability and prices.
One of the most looked forward to seasonal events at the athletic fields, other than the Fourth of July, is the construction of the town ice rink. This ice rink, donated and maintained by the Ashland Fire Department offers free ice for the community to skate on throughout the winter. Please let them know how much you appreciate their efforts.
Check out the posting for more events that are happening at Ashland Parks & Recreation. Thanks for visiting.
